I debated uploading this. Besides the fact that I don't typically write poetry and I'm not terribly confident in my ability to do so, this is a very personal piece for me.

Towards the end of last year, I spent several months in treatment for an eating disorder. I wrote "Again To Fly" in September, for my fellow patients primarily, but also for anyone going through similar struggles.

Lack of poetic confidence aside, I did put a lot of thought into it, I am proud of it, and my hope is that it can reach at least one person dealing with any kind of painful rebirth. So I decided to finally upload it.

And I put my comments here because I really want only the dedication to be under the actual poem.

Gotta break my radio silence for this just 'cause it's so fucking hilarious. Seriously, did you read that enormous, pages-long article they wrote about the thing?

DeviantArt, honey, it's just a fucking logo! It's not the harbinger of the next great artistic movement! Get over your pretentiousness, you're embarrassing yourselves!

Guess I'll take this opportunity to answer the following question: am I still doing art? Yes. Kinda. On occasion. Not really. I'd like to be, but I have motivation issues.

There is some stuff on my Tumblr that hasn't made it here yet, and anything I do in the future will probably wind up there first as well, so you may wanna follow that. But be warned that that blog is 99.9% composed of shit other than art.

Maybe I should start a side blog that's exclusively for my art.

I fail to see why everyone's making such a big fucking deal about this.

Already announced this with a sketch compilation, but it can't hurt to announce it in two places, right? Right? Just to annoy those who are paying attention and to maybe catch the attention of those who aren't?

Anyway, here it is. I'm aiming to stick at least one sketch there per day. We'll see how that goes, eh?

(Doesn't seem to be going badly so far, though.)

EDIT 01/01/2014: Five months later, it's going horribly. The blog has degenerated into a dumping pit for everything I find mildly interesting on Tumblr. But it's still there if you care to follow it, and I still occasionally post something I've drawn. Rarely.

How does it work?!
